Email is the preferred method of communication. Most emails are answered within 8 hours of submission.

A:
DTC ships orders via US Postal Service and all items are either hand delilvered to the post office or picked up during our daily postal service.
DTC will do everything possible to ensure that your order is processed and delivered to an official mailing location. Each item processed at DTC is logged and confirmation of delivery to the post office is kept. Unfortunatly, once the order has been delivered or picked up - DTC no longer has contol of the item and is not responsible for the final delivery.
We are happy to provide you with email confirmations on the creation of your shipping label and the tracking number. It is the responsibility of the customer to research any "lost" package or to submit any request for tracking. DTC will not refund for items lost in the mail.

There are 2 sections to a DTC order 1) Mold Creation and 2) Shipping.
Orders paid via Paypal - Orders are processed on a daily basis, unless noted by a store message (vacation, out of office, etc). All of our molds are custom made to order, DTC does not carry inventory. Each mold will be poured, cured and inspected -- this process takes 3 to 5 days. Once the mold is ready to ship, you will be notified via email of shipping. Please see the FAQ on Shipping for ship times.
Orders paid by Check, Money Order or COD (only for local orders). Upon receipt of the order, DTC will send an email response notifying the receipt of the order and the address to remit payment. The process of making the molds for your order will NOT begin until payment has been received and cleared.

Yes. Customers who place orders with DTC are automatically added to our monthly newsletter. Each month features new products, helpful tips, project ideas and coupon codes.

Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Personal Check and Money Order.
Credit cards will be processed thru Paypal. You do not have to have a Paypal account to order using a credit card.

Absolutely! Credit cards are processed thru Paypal, which offers secure payment transactions.

Unfortunately we do not accept returns. However, in the first 30 days, if there is a quality defect the item will be replaced.
If you believe you have an item that is defected, please submit a close up photo of the mold and a description to info@decoratethecake.com for review. If a defect is found, DTC will replace the item. In the event that the item no longer exists or has been retired, you will receive store credit for the defective item.
DTC reserves the right to determine if the item is defective or not.

Yes. Wholesale or distributor pricing is available for qualified applicants. To qualify you must be able to provide information that you are in the business of a resaler or an instructor that would be purchasing items to reseller to students.
Wholesale pricing is a flat 40% off the retail pricing. Once qualified, you will receive a userid and password to the Wholesale catalog, where you can place your orders.

Once your molds have been poured and cured (3 to 5 business days), shipping is estimated at 1) US orders from 3 to 5 business days and 2) International orders 10 to 14 business days

For US orders your items will be mailed either US First Class Mail or Priority Mail. International orders will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail.

Yes. Your mailing label will be generated thru Paypal and you will receive a confirmation email that your items have been shipped. Each order will have a tracking number that you can use. Tracking information is available thru your Paypal account or directly from the USPS site.

ALOT! There is a weight limit of 4lbs -- this is for both Domestic and International.
All items are calculated by weight and the shipping costs are driven by that weight. In the event that we can get the items you ordered into the flat rate envelope but you've paid for flat rate -- The difference in shipping will be refunded and your items will ship flat rate envelope.

Decorate The Cake ships to over 190 Countries with Priority Mail International.
Flat-rate envelope (up to 4lb) is priced at $9.95 for Canada and Mexico, and $12.95 for all other countries.
Flat-rate box option (up to 20lb) is priced at $23.95 for Canada and Mexico, and $38.95 for all other countries.

There are 2 choices for international shipping. 1) Flat Rate International Priority Mail Box, which are tracked and 2) International Flat Rate Priority Envelopes which are not tracked. This information is provided directly from the USPS website.

Q: Are the molds FDA compliant?
Are the molds, lace presses and veiners safe to use on edible items?
A:
Yes. All the molds/presses/veiners are always used with food items. Any use of these products with a non-food item (clay, wax, etc) negates the food grade charastics of the mold.
DTC uses a Food Grade Silicone for all molds, presses and veiners. Below is the information from the FDA Compliance that makes this silicone food compliant.
Indirect Food Additive Regulations
CFR 21 parts 174-178 are “Indirect Food Additive Regulations”, of which CFR 177.2600 is part of. CFR 177.2600 covers “rubber articles intended for repeated use”. These are the guidelines that the FG catalyst conforms with. The specific use definition from CFR 21 177.2600 is as follows:
“Rubber articles intended for repeated use may be safely used in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food, subject to the provisions of this section”. This section being 21CFR 177.2600.
Further, these materials are not intended to have any technical effect in the food.
QM Cat FG has been tested with QM 107 , 113 , 122 , 128 (10% catalyst) per the guidelines of CFR 177.2600 and the material has been found to be compliant.

Yes. And freezer safe too!
All of our molds, presses or veiners are oven safe to 325 degrees. Some of the larger molds (sea shells, etc) can double as mini cake pans. They are also safe for melting hard candy in the oven.
Alternate uses include using the molds for ice.
